MAN WALKING IN THE CITY | NICOLAS JAIS-NIELSEN

I am a city man and I love myself to walk in the city. I think therefore I am the man in the painting.

My father is danish and my mother is from Irak, so I consider myself as a world citizen.

Similarly, the character in the painting has no particular ethnic identity, no particular colour such as white or black.

The city presented is in a close future, with buildings like in a science fiction movie.

The clouds are round but also square to fit with the top of the skyscrapers.

In the future everything is possible!

I also thought it was important that some aspects of the painting are not like the reality.

Similarly, I like the perspective given by the pedestrian crossing, but I did not want to make the lines white, in order to give more color to the city.

I also like fluorescent colors and I like cities because they show such colors specially at night.
